I just spent ages travelling around Belgium and Holland and now I really had to do a lot of reading to catch up with the blogs I regularly check... And I'm still not in the civilisation so all those who I bought a postcard for will have to wait until that happens :D
Well, Belgium was good! A bit like a hippie camp for a week with the little addition that we had at least a few lectures every day and ended with going to Brussels for an action in front of the European Commisions building. I enjoyed a mid-night swim in a canal, dancing all night with weird music, talking some Italian, drinking honeybeer, watching a Sir David Attenborough movie and laughing 1 in the morning, having a coffee in a fancy/comfy Brussels cafe, travelling with trains and always missing one and having to wait for the next.
Holland was even greater! I spent two days couchsurfing in Utrecht, the best choice possible! I was so so lucky to arrive excactly on the day of the Holland-Uruguay match and we watched it with some dozen people, most dressed in orange and drank dutch beer. Before that I went cycling to the city. It was really nice, though mostly I was scared of other crazy bikers :D
Next I went to Amsterdam for a day. Or more like for half a day. I was plannnig to leave quite early from Utrecht, but when I finished packing and got down to the living room I had a coffee with Hanna (my official host) and the others who lived there so I ended up staying for another 1,5 hours. Amst was nice to walk around in and for the night I went to the airport which to my great dismay closed at twelve (!?) and I ended up walking to a random little forest and sleeping there (I had a sleeping bag). Actually I laughed a lot (alone) when I heard the voice from the loudspeaker announcing the closing of the airport :D
Now I'm working in a children's camp and just had a long day. When the kids where having their quiet hour after lunch, many of us ran to the lake and swam for as long as we could. To the suprise of many of my foreign friends I have to tell you this - it's warm here! Let's hope the kids will be behaving nicely and that I will see the finals!!!
And I forgot to tell you about my trip to the camp place which was a complete failure from the beginning to the end. We left home at 11, 11.30 found out that the bus we intended to take was full, decided to hitchhike, had problems because of some road repair works, got to Rakvere (half way), waited for 1 whole hour, decided to walk the 3 km to the town and take a bus (with the extreme hot weather btw), hitched on a car for the last half km and got to the bus station exactly on time. Then I had some sleep and Külli woke me up and told we're there, we shouldd go off. We got off, but it wasn't the right place! Well, we finallly arrived after 18.30! Now again I'm waiting for her to bring some chocolate to my office/working house/med point.
